Jackson Using the remarkable success of congestion pricing in Stockholm and London, Jackson makes a good argument for a similar system in Boston. He correctly points out that prior to implementing such a system, the car-free alternatives in Boston must be substantially improved. While ahead of many cities in the United States, Boston will still need to do much to provide the alternatives (public transportation, bike lanes, park & ride lots) needed to reduce congestion by the 10-15% Jackson proposes. The Massachusetts legislature plans to address transportation funding later this year, providing the perfect opportunity to add congestion pricing into discussion. ---Read the Article--- |
